Community Policy
Predictionmarkets.org is here to help people understand prediction markets clearly and think about them well. Members read, question, discuss, and forecast together — and a few simple guidelines keep that space informative, civil, and worth trusting.
- Come in good faith. Ask real questions, share what you know, and engage with ideas rather than the people holding them. Curiosity and honest uncertainty are welcome; posturing and bad faith are not.
- Argue with evidence — and welcome disagreement. Back claims with sources, separate fact from forecast, and update when the evidence changes. Thoughtful skepticism about prediction markets, a platform, or a given forecast is valued, not unwelcome.
- Keep it civil, especially on hard topics. We cover politics, geopolitics, and other charged subjects. Debate the issue, not the individual — no harassment, hate speech, threats, or attacks on someone's identity. Heated is fine; hostile is not.
- Stay honest about the markets. Don't use the community to move markets or mislead others — no pump-and-dump coordination, insider tips, fabricated "signals," or sockpuppet accounts. And if you hold a position or have a stake in what you're discussing, say so.
- Information, not advice — and always lawful. Everything here is for information and education, not financial, investment, betting, legal, or tax advice, and nothing is a recommendation to stake money on any outcome. The legal status of these markets varies by place and age, so you're responsible for the laws that apply to you. Participate within your means, and treat forecasting as a tool for thinking — not a promise of returns.
- No spam, and respect privacy. Keep contributions relevant and free of referral-link flooding or off-topic promotion. Don't post anyone's private information — your own included — or share others' work in ways that violate their rights.
Moderation. We apply this as consistently and transparently as we can — editing or removing content, issuing warnings, or restricting accounts as needed, with manipulation, harassment, and illegal activity treated most seriously. If we get something wrong, tell us; we'd rather fix it.
